Families are a significant market for domestic tourism and are likely to remain
so. Evidence shows that family spending is set to increase. Despite the growth
in popularity of overseas holidays, 59% of families still take a domestic break.
Compared to UK holidays as a whole, family trips are likely to be longer - four
or more nights (Mintel Family Holidays UK Report June 2004). Families are also
an important contributor to secondary spend such as food and drink.
Monday 22nd & Tuesday 23rd September 2008, Renishaw Hall
Renishaw Hall and University of Derby are hosting a free Wine Sourcing Workshop
on 22nd and 23rd September 2008 at Renishaw Hall, near Chesterfield. The event
is FREE to businesses based in the Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire area and
is aimed at hoteliers and restaurateurs keen to further their knowledge of wine.
The course includes a tour of the vineyard at Renishaw Hall to see the harvest
and meet the head gardener, sessions on how to put together a wine list from a
wine expert, information on wines from around the world, matching wine with food
and a workshop with wine merchant, Playford Ros.
Guestlink Online Workshops

Guestlink Online is a FREE product that enables you to amend certain accommodation details and importantly, your
availability and prices. It also allows you to promote special offers and short
breaks and, if you choose, allow visitors to make either real-time bookings or
enquiries about availability.
Providers wishing to use Guestlink Online are expected to attend a workshop to
ensure that they are able to make full use of the functionality. Workshops are
hands-on and last around two hours. Should you not be able to attend a workshop,
you can also amend availability and prices using a touch-tone phone.
